Berberine HCl (CAS 633-65-8, 371.81 g/mol) is about 90.5% berberine by weight — the berberine moiety is 336.36 g/mol of the salt — so “98% berberine HCl” and “98% berberine (as moiety)” differ by roughly 10% in delivered berberine.
